Moonlight
top shelf of my heart
Left of childhood memories
right of my regrets
I packaged that love and sent it on its way
In it, minuscule universes, moments in stilled time
May others drink from the wells it touches
Or watch it go by on a starry night
Or crutch on it the evenings contempt bleeds onto the dinner table
May i see it palpitate in the shadow of lovers dancing
May you sense it as the lukewarm water comforts your hands
May we be felt in the embrace
Of those in love as they go to sleep
After all
What is love that is not given
To the world to share
